Wondering about POP at PSAA?
Here are the artists prepping and trying out the lesson to take to the Rehabs in our community. Linda Saladino (standing), also, Joyce Echochard, Cathy Ronnie, Julia Costa, and Pat Pellitier.
It is the outreach group at PSAA that goes out to the residents at the rehab hospitals and shares an art lesson two hours a month. It is a great activity and very rewarding for the artists and the residents.

On January 13, 2016, Pine Shores Art Association began a new and innovative program called POP (Pine Shores Outreach Program) which is still going strong. The purpose of the outreach program is to bring art to some of the under-served residents of Ocean County. Volunteers had training in how to respond to the residents at the onset of the program.
During the months of February through November, a team of three artists visited Genesis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Manahawkin Nursing Center, and Seacrest Terraces Assisted Living Center.
Once a month residents participate in a different lesson at each facility. Every year volunteers meet on the third Wednesday of January, March, May, July, and September to watch demos by the lead artists planning the lessons for the next two months. Art lessons are varied each month and the residents not only enjoy the classes, but are proud of their work. Residents are so appreciative of our being there for them and eagerly await the new lesson. Volunteers also enjoy these opportunities to interact with the residents and each other out in the community. They
feel good helping others enjoy expressing themselves creatively through art. Not only do the volunteers give of their time each month, but many of them donate supplies needed for the lessons as well.
POP has a loyal group of artists who want to continue this worthwhile program for years to come.
